  1. Scroll to the right of the last Column header in your Board, where you will see a "+" plus symbol icon.
  2. Hover over it with your mouse and it will show a black pop-up with white text saying "Add column".  Click this.
  3. This will open a pop-up showing 14 of the more popular Column types in Monday with a "More Columns" option at the bottom.  The Mirror Column is not shown in the first 14 Column Types displayed, so click on the "More Columns" button.
  4. This will open the Columns Centre with a search field at the top.  The fastest way to find the Mirror Column is to simply start typing "Mirror" and as soon as you get to "Mi", the only Column Type it will display will be the Mirror Column.  Click on the Mirror Column to add it.
  5. This will create the Mirror Column in your Board and then open up a Pop-up with a blue "Connect" button.  Click the blue "Connect" button.
  6. The next Pop-up will show you any Connect Board Columns already set up in your Board and also a "Create a new connection" option.
  7. If the correct Connect Board Column is NOT already set up in your Board, click the "Create a new connection" text.  This will take you through the Connect Boards Column setup process.  (See Step 4 in Method #1 in the previous Lesson "How to add a Connect Boards Column to your Board").
  8. If the correct Connect Boards Column is already shown, simply click it and then in the next pop-up, select which Column you wish to Mirror.  {Note that if you mirror a Status Column, you will need to select whether to mirror all Status Values or only those that indicate done).
  9. This will open up a searchable list of all the Boards in your account.  At this point, you can either search or scroll to find the Board or Boards you wish to connect to your Connect Boards Column and simply check the Board/s you wish to connect.
  10. Next, check the "Create a 2 Way Connection" checkbox if you want the Connect Boards Column to appear in both/all boards.
  11. Finally, click the blue "Connect Boards" button to connect the Board/s to your new Connect Boards Column.
  12. Next, you will see a Pop-up with a blue "Create a Mirror Column" button (the other option is some text that says "No thanks, I'll do it later).  If you wish to add a Mirror Column to your Board, click the Blue button.
  13. This will open a Pop-up that asks you to select which Column from the other Board you wish to mirror in the current Board.  Simply select the Column you wish to mirror from the dropdown to add it to your Board.  (Note that if the Column you wish to mirror is a Status Column, you will be asked whether you wish to display "All labels" or "What's done".  If you select "What's done", the Mirror Column will only display labels that indicate an Item is "done".  By default, only the green "Done" status value indicates done, but you customize this so that other/different Status values indicate an item is Done).
  14. You have now successfully added either a 1-way or 2-way Connect Boards Column to your Board and connected it to one or more other Boards.  And if you chose to add a Mirror Column as well, you will now have not only a Connect Boards Column but also a Mirror Column set up in your Board.

Method #2 - the "Add Column To The Right" Column Menu action

  1. Hover over any Column header to reveal the elipses (three dots).  Click on this to open the Column Menu.
  2. The 7th option down is "Add column to the right >", hovering over this will reveal 7 popular Column types with a "More columns" option at the bottom.  Click on the "More Columns" button.
  3. This will open the Columns Centre with a search field at the top.  Simply start typing "Connect" and as soon as you get to "Conn", the only 2 Column Types it will display will be the Connect Boards Column and Mirror Column.
  4. Click on the Connect Boards Column to add it to your Board to the right of the original Column.
  5. This will create the Connect Boards Column in your Board and then open up a Pop-up with a blue "Select Boards" button you can use to choose which Board you wish to connect to your Connect Boards Column.  Click the blue "Select Board" button.
  6. This will open up a searchable list of all the Boards in your account.  At this point, you can either search or scroll to find the Board or Boards you wish to connect to your Connect Boards Column and simply check the Board/s you wish to connect.
  7. Next, check the "Create a 2 Way Connection" checkbox if you want the Connect Boards Column to appear in both/all boards.  (If you don't check it, the Connect Board Column will only be visible in the current Board, not any other Board you connect to it).
  8. Finally, click the blue "Connect Boards" button to connect the Board/s to your new Connect Boards Column.
  9. Next, you will see a Pop-up with a blue "Create a Mirror Column" button (the other option is some text that says "No thanks, I'll do it later).  If you wish to add a Mirror Column to your Board, click the Blue button.
  11. You have now successfully added either a 1-way or 2-way Connect Boards Column to your Board and connected it to one or more other Boards.  And if you chose to add a Mirror Column as well, you will now have not only a Connect Boards Column but also a Mirror Column set up in your Board.

Note

If you connect multiple Boards to your Board via the Connect Boards Column, it prevents you from triggering Automations in the Board based upon changes in another connected Board.
